Initial Consumer Reactions to PS3 Very Positive
BusinessWeek recently posted an associated press article about the very positive response thus far to the hotly anticipated Sony Playstation 3. Already, many consumers with PS3 pre-orders are asking upwards of $2000 on E-bay, and often times getting it, despite the fact that a pre-order does not 100% ensure that you will receive your PS3.
This just goes to show that despite having it’s fair share of marketing blunders, Sony has been able to position itself to dominate the Holiday market, by making a great product, giving it a sleek look, and Next-Gen capabilities. The PS3 will also be amazingly quiet, and will offer a free online service. With all the great features PS3 has to offer, even with the $500-$600 price tag, Sony has made it hard to resist, despite the money and the effort it will take to acquire one.
It is easy to see that the PS3 will be huge when it is officially launched in the U.S., but we will get to see first hand just what kind of an impact it will have once it is released this coming Saturday in Japan. I would not be surprised to read some crazy stories of what people do to get one. Hopefully we will have one to post come Saturday or Sunday. With huge launches like this, hilarity usually will ensue.
