If Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 had a baby...

Medal of Honor

Consider this article’s headline for a moment; if a developer could combine the cinematic excellence and detailed visuals of Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 with the strategic, intelligent and hugely destructive gameplay intrinsic to EA’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2, we would see the birth of the greatest FPS to date, right?

October 15th 2010 is the due date. Medal of Honor is that baby.

Being developed by EA Los Angeles in conjunction with Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment, this FPS is shaping-up to be the best of both worlds, promising an unmatched multiplayer experience complimented by lavish graphics, eye-popping special effects, and unreal levels of realism. Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? Well it isn’t, and this 11 minute gameplay video taken from E3 (provided courtesy of German webiste PC Games) proves it.

Speaking personally, I’ve never wanted any game so badly. My contacts at EA tell me that a closed multiplayer beta begins on June 21st. Guess who's already got himself an exclusive beta code?

I'll let you know my thoughts sometime in the next few weeks.
