How to cut your electricity bill – which console uses the most
A recent research study conducted by Dean Takahasi has uncovered some interesting facts concerning the power consumption of the current generation consoles. Of course, the Xbox 360 uses a monster load of 194 watts. This isn’t a surprise, by looking at the system’s power brick .The PS3 scores in at 171 watts, which isn’t too bad. But the most economically friendly system, by far, is the Wii. The pint-sized console merely consumes 17 watts.
There are still down-sides to this, seeing as the Wii is technically the most outdated and underpowered machine of the three. But it’s always pleasing to hear for anyone that wants to save a couple bucks on their electric bill.

Are their respective powers measured idle, while gaming, or while watching movies? I think this makes a big different as most systems spent their times on idle but for those that run as servers or folding@home (like the PS3), this point matters.
Too bad its almost impossible to gauge performance per watt on the systems.
