The optimism for highly anticipated PS3 launch can be seen globally as the UK based research consultant firm recently, through a survey, stated that Playstation 3 is still winning among UK gamers despite Microsoft”s global Xbox 360 marketing assault.

The XTN Data spoke to 1,000 UK gamers about the next generation consoles; Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The outcome was a bit of surprise as Xbox 360 is set to launch on December 2. Out of 1,000 surveys, 32% of gamers said that they are likely to buy PS3 and 27% of the respondents stated that they are going to go with the Xbox 360.

“This comes despite huge efforts by Microsoft to launch in time for the vital Christmas period and before Sony”s 2006 launch,” said XTN Data founder Greig Harper. Although, PS3 is set to launch 2006/2007 in Japan and U.S respectively, this is a critical information for Sony and developers as they can still hope to manage to stay as the number 1 console in the world.
