Heavenly Sword Reviews to Compare
We figured it’d be nice to see some snippets and ranks of reviews Heavenly Sword is getting and received:
Worthplaying.com = 9.4/10 - “Save the terminal crash-landing, Heavenly Sword is a superb game that exceeds any and all expectations. The title is by far the best single-player experience yet on the PlayStation 3 and certainly one of the finest on any platform this year. To quote General Flying Fox, King Bohan’s most wicked, self-absorbed henchman, as just a bit too late, he realizes his jig is up, “Style … That had style.”
PS3Advanced - 8.3/10 - “Events leading to the final battle ramp up in intensity. You can feel the clock ticking away as you defeat each boss. There are a few twists thrown in that make you conjure up some emotion as you do make personal connections with the game’s characters. You tear through ranks of enemies, and are able to stop and “Ooooo” and “Ahhhhh” at some of the landscapes which are Zen inspired.
Heavenly Sword is finely crafted masterpiece that takes presentation in gaming to new heights. There is much to love about Heavenly Sword and PS3 fans that have been waiting for original games to release can be happy as larks. Short game length and God of War comparisons aside, gamers will be looking for more Nariko. Heavenly Sword is one of the most cinematic experiences out on the market right now and it would be a shame to miss out on it. Ninja Theory should be very proud of themselves for delivering an epic title for the PS3. ”
Gamespy - 4/5 - “We had our doubts about Heavenly Sword the first time we looked at it, and so you can imagine our delight that the final retail version has done a better job of living up to our lofty expectations. Our initial criticisms on the sameness of combat that led to an overall feeling of tediousness have not been completely eradicated, however, as there is still very little variation in the enemies you face, but the improvements to the framerate certainly make the combos and counters a lot easier to perform. We’re still of the mind that Heavenly Sword is not particularly original, but in the face of the improved combat such things are easier to overlook. ”
