Guitar Hero has become on of the gaming world’s greatest accomplishments. Never have so many aspired to be the next Slash or Keith Richards (hopefully without the serious drug problem…). But with the latest announced pricing of Guitar Hero World Tour, you may just need a recording contract’s income to be able to afford it.

GameStop has announced the retail pricing and it is, shall we say, a bit on the high side. At $189.99 for the PS3 and $179.99 for the PS2, you’d better start saving your pennies (and ten spots). Presumably the combo will include the guitar, drum set and microphone peripherals. This will make it $20 more than the Rock Band Special Edition Bundle. But then again, the drums in Guitar Hero are confirmed as wireless whereas Rock Band has a cord.  And, if all you want to do is upgrade from a battle axe to a 6 string axe, the Guitar Hero Word Tour – Guitar Kit is listed at only $99.99 for both platforms.
