God of War 3 Ultimate Edition unboxing

God of War 3

I never buy the expensive version of games. Usually I don't care about the cheap collectibles, but when I heard about the God of War Ultimate Edition I figured, "what the hey", and spent the extra $40. So at the midnight launch I picked up my spiffy Pandora's box, complete with concept art and a bunch of download codes. I went ahead and took some pictures of the event which you can check out below if you don't mind the terrible quality.

It might just be plastic, but it's very well designed.

So there you have it. Expect a full review once I finish the game. I'm going to start playing now.

I wonder why we couldn't have a dynamically implied Kratos figurine, crouching ready to launch a combo with his blades of exile held aloft with this Ultimate Edition instead we got the Oh-so-plastic-but-sprayed-with-gold-paint Pandora's all-ungiving box. Ubi's Black Edition of AC2 with the awesome statueette of Ezio works so well. Hopefully we will see statueary of Kratos & family released & made commercially available by Sony in the future!

I'm a bit disapointed! I know that many people ordered the Ultimate Edition and "Personally," I felt that it was best to back out of my pre-order. Pandora's box looks absolutly beautiful in the promotional outlets, but something made me a bit cautious. Now the Bioshock 2 collectors edition was a tribute to fans of Rapture, as it was a great bargin and "filled" with chockiesand tangable items! In the "unboxings," The God of War 3 Ultimate Edition looks cheep and empty. Hopeful, this is not a trend with collectors editions, resulting from an overwelming amount of pre-orders. The sales margins for this one must have been massive!

@Johnathan - I'm pretty sure you do, but that may be our version in the UK only. Thing is, God of War Collection has already been released in the States whereas we don't have it yet (although I imported myself a copy back in January...)

Here in sweden the ultimate box is $203 more than the normal edition...

Do you get God of War 1 & 2 with that too or is that a different box set ?
