That's right PS3 fans, in spite of a tidal wave of rumours going around the Internet we were lacking any official confirmation about the contents of firmware update 2.4. More to the point: would it have...you know, that thing we all want. Confirmation we now have. The wait is very nearly over...

Writing on the official Playstation Blog (doesn't get much more official than that), Eric Lempel confirmed that 2.4 will include in-game XMB and the oft-rumoured trophies.

The update was short but oh so sweet with no further details on when v2.40 will drop or further details on "other new enhancements" as he puts it. I guess we'll have to hold on a little bit longer and keep our fingers crossed for some good news in the next week or two.
