yes this is true. I bought the 80 GB motorstorm pack from amazon last month. Played great for about 2 days. Downloaded 2.01 and all hell broke loose. System froze while I was playing Motorstorm. Eversince the system wouldn't read a disk of anykind (CD/DVD/PS3/BluRay). Fortunatley Amazon was kind enough to send me a replacementat no charge. I love my PS3, but I will stick with my current firmware (1.70 I think) until I see how all of this shakes out.

I have the PS3 for 1 month now and updated the system Twice and Did Not Faced Any Problems or whatsoever. It's actually better because I can still play Pirated DVD's, and PS2 games used in PS3 have better graphics than before. Audio CD's can be copied on the HDD directly. At present I bought 3 Games Online, and Have Enkoyed around 30 Games Free Demos downloaded from PSN. Those who have problems are not related to 2.01 I can say that!

Yes, can confirm that, 3 days after update my PS3 won't play anything anymore, system boots fine, no disc CD, DVD, BD, Games is recognised anymore. Returned it to the shop who sends it in for checking. Damn, had it only for less than 3 months and the repair might take up to 15 working days. That's so bad!
