European DualShock 3 release is “imminent”

Speaking at the PlayStation Day event, SCEE president David Reeves confirmed that DualShock 3 is finally, making its way to European shores - about damn time too, if you ask me.

“The DualShock 3 launch is imminent,” Reeves informed the curious press at the event, in answer to the observation that a Sixaxis is included in the newly-announced European MGS4 bundle.

Reeves offered no hints as to when exactly Europeans gamers are going to be able to get their hands on the controller over here, or if we’ll see it before Metal Gear’s launches on June 12.

The DualShock 3 has already launched in both America and Japan, so this is one serious delay on Sony’s part, which is quite surprising as the company has always been generous to its European memberbase. We’ll let you know as soon as we get some official word from the company.

  1. Generous to their European userbase? You mean when Pain was released 4 months after it was in America? Or Killzone is going to be released later in the EU?

  2. I got a White Dualshock3 off e-bay, not much more expensive than a plain sixaxis, and there were black and white ones available.

So if we Europeans want an extra controller, go for a Dualshock3 NOW. They’re just NOT available in the shops or with bundles, yet.

At least these things aren’t region locked or limited, so use the Capitalist economy we live in and shop around.

    LOL
There are many Playstation games that are released a year after they are released in Japan and the USA.
There are even games, such as Xenosage 1, that have NEVER been released in Europe.

Delays like that are the fault of the developers of the games, not Sony.
