Echochrome Hits US PSN
An update to the US Playstation blog shows that puzzle game Echochrome will be available for purchase on the US PSN store from today. The game can be yours for a mere $9.99 and will be available in both PS3 and PSP versions.
Echochrome is a really interesting title, which uses physics-based puzzle solving and visual manipulation of on screen imagery. The concept is based on the work of Dutch graphic artist M C Escher... I’d never heard of him either.
Essentially you have to get the man to walk through various markers on the level. To do this you have to rotate the geometric shapes he walks on so as to remove obstacles from his path. For instance, a gap in the path will cause the man to fall but if you rotate the level so a pillar obscures the gap from your view he will walk over unimpeded. Out of sight, out of mind I suppose.
A demo has been around on the Japanese PSN for a while now. If you’ve got a *cough* Japanese account you could try it out - the voice over for the demo is in English.
I’m a big fan of puzzle / strategy games. With the gaming world immersed in Liberty City currently (myself included) it’s nice to see something a little left of centre.
