Disgaea 3 to get a Trophy Patch on July 16th

Disgaea 3 is going to get a trophy patch in the US on July 16th (at 1am PST, if you want to be ridiculously specific), ie; next Thursday. There’s no word on an EU release, yet, but you might not mind as much as you think you will.
The patch will render all previous save games useless and unusable, which is a bit of a bitch, especially considering that the game’s been out for a long time and you’ve probably put a lot of time into it already. You could always just not install the patch, though. If, however, you’ve been thinking about buying the game in America and needed something to push you over the edge, you’ve really hit the jackpot.
Apparently, the trophy patch *doesn’t* render old saves unusable after all.
Most of the fans are confused by this, because Nippon Ichi themselves said it would, but anyone planning to update their game can rest assured that they won’t lose their saves if they want to patch their game.
