Devil May Cry is reported to have a 20 minute install time on PS3 — this isnt a big deal to anyone who is even remotely old school, the best things come to those who wait.
I had to listen to screaming cacophony for 10 minutes in order to play Magicland Dizzy on my Spectrum ZX, and I couldnt even use a demonic arm to do massive combos in that. I was just an egg. So there, we shouldn’t complain.
EXcept for the fact that theres no similar 5gig install on the 360 yet performance is apparently the same. Hmm.

What I don’t get is… what needs to be installed?
What’s so different about the PS3 version that you need to throw 5GB of information onto the hard drive in order to play it? Especially considering the extra storage capacity of the Blu-Ray format, it’s ridiculous.
I put the blame on Capcom for this myself, not Sony.
But hey, as long as the game is good enough!
That is strange, I don’t like the idea of simply giving away 5gb of storage, what is it needed for?
It’s for faster load times on ps3. Plus during the 20 minutes we get to see a review of the story in the past games. This is a blessing for ps3; not a set back.
I wish for once when I read a post on this site it would be unbiased. This is the stupidest thing! So I have to give up 5gb of storage so that my game can run equal to the 360 version? Awesome,………another blessing in disguise!
Actually, it’s Sony’s fault it has to be installed. The bluray drive is only 2x, and it can’t read the data from the disk quickly enough, which is why it has to be installed to your hardrive. Otherwise you could look forward to stupidly long load times.
The 360 has a DVD drive, whcih was out a long time before the 360, so it’s at a speed high enough to run it straight from the disk.
@Russ: The ps3 version has faster load times than 360, wise guy. We can expect more cool features like this for ps3 versions in the future.
p.s. How are you tripping about 5gb when the damn things come with 40, 60 or even 80 gigs? Plus, you can always delete it after you done with the game.
