When I bought my PS3, it was my first HDMI piece of equipment (take that 20GB 360!) so I splurged and bought a HDMI compatible receiver as well. I won’t claim the signal was a zillion times better but having just one cable and presumably a better picture made it much better, both for playing games and for watching Blu Ray and DVD’s.
