PS3 Cheats -- Dead Space (Please add your own)
Let's just start by saying what those of us who have played Dead Space already know - it rules all! I personally have completed the game on Medium/Intermediate level and am spending my spare time these days completing Insane level. In the process, I've come up with a couple of strategies I'd like to share. I'll add to this list as I think of them. In the meantime, please add your own.
Tips and Tricks:
- Always keep one power node unused and in your inventory. You never know when you may be running low on health or ammo and need a node to get into an otherwise locked room. These rooms always have lots of goodies and often times give you more than the 10,000 credits you would need to buy the replacement node.
- Use stasis and stomping to kill enemies if a stasis refill is nearby. You can use stasis and stomping (R2) to put the smack down on most enemies. If a stasis refill is nearby (like when planting the beacon on the asteroid) use this method to preserve ammo. Just run out of the room whenever stasis gets low, refill, and go back in and kick some monster butt!

im playing it on hard mode.
1 upgrade ur stasis to the max and use it in combination with melee to conserve ammo especially if there's a refill nearby. stasis makes a BIG difference especially in hard mode
2. maximize gun capacity and reloading speed to minimize pausing. it could mean life and death
3. shoot the legs of standing monsters, to slow down the fast ones especially. start off shooting the legs of the fat ones then their arms and never the body. this prevents those tiny creatures from spewing out of it
4. dismember dead bodies so the stingray-looking monsters can't reanimate them
5. i think the plasma gun maxed out is the all-purpose gun if u want to save money in the long run.
6. max out rig hp and air
7. use kinesis and fire a red flammable tank at the flesh-colored monster that's attached to the wall to kill it with one hit. this monster is the one that spews single tentacle sludges
8. when ur overwhelmed by tons of monsters coming at you in a huge room, do the hit and run tactic. it could mean life and death. also it could also be the only way to pass that particular part/moment of the game. i found out im better off running around and killing and grabbing dropped items from killed monsters, than stand against a wall shooting until i finally run out of ammo and med packs
9. hit more than one monster with one shot of stasis. 2 birds with 1 stone
10. explore often for items and use your destination tracker (by pressing right control stick on xbox 360)
11. turn up your TV brightness
12. grab far away objects as soon as you can before fully entering a room and before monsters come out and ambush you
13. run behind a door and let it close between you and a pack of monsters then kill the monsters one by one while standing behind a door
like cody said be cautious or have fun watching yourself die... but dont run around screaming i find a heavy dose of stasis and some stomping while singing "stomp em in the nuts" works just fine or be like my bro and punch ur ps3 untill it turns off if u get scared
Can't get the 5 nodes... Is there another way/passcode?
heres a quick tip, to conserve ammo, deck out your plasma cutter, and go straight for health and stasis. on impossible just run through it. dont waste your time unless you have to kill shit. its not worth the ammo your going to use.
I am playing it fro the 360, and let me tell you. When they said Gears was the most violent game on the market, someone was smoking something. There are more death sequences in this game than tools in my shed.
Hints:
1. Stay cautious or stay dead.
2. When ever there's a Quarantine, back up to a wall, and whip out the strongest gun your packin'.
3. Most importantly: When in fear, When in doubt, run in circles scream and shout.
And you cannot kill the hunters. (the ones that regenerate)

joth, if you have credits go to the nearest store and buy some ammo or get some ammo from the safe that you put there earlier
all cheats worked for me... the 5 nodes i try it twice and at the second try works! so guys try it twice too it might work!
joth when the thing grabs u use auto aim l1 then shot the yellow bit on it after 2 shots it will explode and let u go
5 nodes cheat didn't work for me...all other codes worked just fine.
Ive just come out of the centrifuge room where i am grabbed by the tentacle. I only have 3 shots with my line cutter and no more ammo for anything. No matter how accurate i am, three shots just isnt enough. Any ideas? Or do i have to start again? Please someone, call me stupid and give me an obvious answer.....
Great game, just finished it and here are my tips!
Tip 1 - Want to quickly kill bloody annoying chestbursting things that are stuck to the walls spewing those little spitting creatures. Use an explosive barrel (don't have one in the room then go and find one, It will save you shed loads of ammo in the long run). It kills it in one shot.
Tip 2 - Inspite of what Chris says above you should upgrade in this order
Plasma Cutter — Always have this equipped.
Pulse Rifle — Good once you upgrade it a bit.
Force Gun - Great against crowds or for buying you a few seconds when it gets crazy!
Line Cutter — Your most effective weapon (but can't hold much ammo).
Ripper — Most fun! But later in the game it just doesn't cut it (pun intended!)
Flamethrower - Pants! Not very powerful or long enough range on either firing modes.
Contact Beam - Most powerful weapon, but takesssss foreverrrrrr toooooo fireeeeeeee! Don't bother.

I push start, while playing, and enter the codes. Nothing happens. No money, no stasis, no nodes.
After I input the code should I hear a bell or something? After I input the code should I exit the pause menu via start, circle, or x? What am I doing wrong?
Loved this game so much.
Tip: STASIS! STASIS! STASIS! Use it. Abuse it. Use it some more. People aren't using enough stasis out there.
Tip 2: Power up weapons in this order:
Plasma Cutter -- strategic dismemberment, people.
Pulse Rifle -- perfect for crowds
Line Cutter -- PWNS those fetus-rabbit monsters.
Ripper -- for when your backed into a corner
When going for the Z-Baller trophy:
Don't bother going for the score multiplier by hitting the different jump pads. This takes too long. Just jump to the nearest pad to the scoring wall, grab the ball and then fire straight back into the scoring zone. You'll only get 1 point per hit but makes it much easier to get the trophy
