George Hotz responds to Sony’s Firmware 3.21 announcement

George Hotz, the young American world-renowned for hacking Apple’s iPhone and, more recently, the supposedly ’unhackable’ PlayStation 3, has spoken out following the announcement from Sony’s Patrick Seybold that PS3 firmware update 3.21 will remove the ‘Install Other OS’ function listed in the console’s XMB for security purposes.

Approaching PS3 firmware update to remove ‘Install Other OS’ feature

Sorry guys, but this isn’t an early April Fools prank. As Sr. Director of Corporate Communications & Social Media Patrick Seybold writes on the US PlayStation Blog, firmware update 3.21, released on April 1st, will disable the ‘Install Other OS’ feature currently available on PS3 systems. Why? Because of security concerns on Sony’s part.
