Sony release new firmware for PS3 this morning. The 1.54 has minor updates for video chatting functions. Apparently, you can now resize video chat screen size and use any USB camera compatible with USB video class on your PS3. This seems to be the only real update to PS3.

Blu-ray has been taking it to HD-DVD lately in terms of hardware sale and movie sales. Since the launch of PS3, Blu-ray movies have steadily outselling its counterpart in terms of movie sales. The European and Australian PS3 launch should only bolster Blu-ray sales.

According to kotaku, Sony in Japan is giving away free stuff to lure customers to buy PS3. The Japundit blog is reporting that Sony is trying to customers who might be skittish about the high price tag. There is no word on what the free stuff is.

Apparently, Sony has no intention of releasing Warhawk as download only game. Kotaku contacted Sony regarding the report from 1up.com?s Sam Kennedy and Sony denied that the game will be available only through download. According to Sony, they have not made any decision regarding the distribution method for the game.
