Crysis Coming to PS3 (but not 360!)

Well, if you’ve drooled as much as this author when seeing Crysis on the PC, you know you’ll need an extra large mop when it comes out for the PS3. That day is coming my friends (but only for the PS3).
According to Crytex insiders, the game will be a port of the PC version and will include extra game modes and features that the PC version lacks. In this respect, it will be an upgrade of the PC version (I feel my mouth dampening up as I write this). But due to technical reasons (i.e., because it sucks!), it will not be available on the inferior, over heating, Halo 3 spouting console known as the Xbox 360. Put that in your hard drive and chew on it 360 fanboys!

Well maybe if they turn it into a 6 DVD BOX-Set and sell another M$ made hard drive they could download the remaining info and just swap discs every so many levels.

Is there any source for this story? I haven’t seen it anywhere else and, while it seems plausible because of the cell’s ability to do the physics and such that is necessary for Crysis, I would have expected a larger announcement.

For a start, the Devs are called Crytek, not Crytex, and you do realise that the PS3 will never be able to run a proper PC port as it’s nowhere near powerful enough?
If it is ported, it will be a stripped down version of the engine……PS3 can’t even run UT3 engine very well compared to PC version, and that is nowhere near as intensive………I’m a PS3 owner by the way…..

I just wnated to ask, why isn’t crysis going to be supported on the 360, cause I dont want to have to buy a new cinsol for just one game. So can somebody please tell me why it isn’t? That would he great

The Ps3 Engine has barely been used, PS3 has the power to play Crysis with ease, without overheating, and without problems. It might lag a bit but thats going to be rare. I never had problems with UT3 on my ps3. The Cell Processor could run Crysis with ease. Simple.

Quite interesting. The engine in Crysis was supposed to be a precursor to Far Cry 2 and with the release of FC2 on console and pc only improves the feasibility that Crysis could work on console. However, the likelihood that Crysis will be ported is slim due to marketing strategies. Or maybe not.
PS3 is more powerful than X360. It’s more easy to come out for PS3 than X360.
ps3 could run a toned down version wich would make lots of money crysis 4 ps3 would would work u have blu ray cell processor with 1 dedicated as a floating point processor wich is kinda besides the point much of the game could be installed a port wouldnt be tobig of a project farcry2 already proved the cry enggine will work on ps3 obviusly some features would have to be removed for s3 to still keep a good framerate but not destructability since thats the main reason y the game is so good besides graphics n im sure they probably want to make a ps3 version but only for money cuz lets face it they didnt become the riches people in the world from this game graphics card companys probably made more from this game and they have probably already sucked in asmany pc owners as they possibly could have so a ps3 version might be pretty plausible right now
@ every 360 faboys ps3 has more powerful hardware i think that comments like carmack about 360 hardware being superior and lazy developers,plus poor ports you fanboys have taking that info as gold and developer have proof wrong carmack comments,he also said theory vs practise guess what practice is been achieve every exclusive on ps3 is way better than 360 gameplay and graphics reasons why crytek will take a shot on developing crysis on ps3 do to the spu’s ex: killzone2 and uncharted as far as destructable look at killzone2 so last thing that could be difficult is memmory access even having XDR do to os in ps3 other than that any game in the market could be done on ps3
Well, personally, i think Crysis could work for PS3. Considering the graphical quality of Far Cry 2 for PS3, Crysis is, in my opinion, more than capable of running on a PS3. Considering that the PS3’s hardware is far superior the Xbox 360’s, i wouldn’t be at all surprised, and excited, if a PS3 version was to be released.
I will think that Crysis will work great on the PS3, since its blu-ray, it could hold more data and info and the Cell CPU for having a Physic engine and the Speed, and Power it need for Crysis. I think this game will diffenenly bring out the true Power of the PS3. As for the Xbox 360, I believe it’ll work also. It might need a few disc swapping since its only in DVD format. But either way. I perfer the PC version. The good thing about the PC version is that I can tweak it.
The PS3 processor could run Crysis with no problem, it has 7 darn cores for crying out loud, but the 7800gtx based ps3 gpu might run into the problems. The recomended card on the published specs for Crysis is the 8800gts 896mb water cooled version, so Im thinking a version for the ps3 would be neat, but could not be created to look as good as the very high enabled pc version. Hopefully theyll make it, but maybe have it programmed to run a medium/high ps3 only version, with maybe some extras, like new weapons or missions. They should do it before the PS4 and XboxIII come out, to finalize this era. In my experience with the whole 7th generation of videogames, its in the action, the combat, the AI, and the physics where all the problems happen, its kind of a weird era in videogames were living in, all the overheating, freezing, errors ect, I think will diminish as we discover new technology and approach the 8th generation.
yer recommended don t mean it wont run on a downgraded card coz it runs fine on my 8800GS 356MB DDR3 card and thats not water-cooled
so i think it could be released on the PS3 with ease
crytek said that crysis would only be a pc title but i recan the ps3 would never handle crysis as well as the pc
