It seems that a new Playstation game, called Dead Nation, is going to be announced at GamesCom tomorrow. The game has appeared in Eurogamer.de's list of titles that will be present at the show, juxtaposed amongst the usual high profile Sony suspects, such as MAG, Gran Turismo PSP, God of War III, etc.

We don't know what Dead Nation is yet, but if we were to hazard a guess we'd hypothesise that it's a PSN game, possibly a strategy. That's probably way off, though, so don't forget the salt.

Update: Sources say it's a PSP game, and that it's called Dead Nation, not Dead Nations.

Vidzone, Sony's 'completely free and easy to use' application for watching music videos via your PS3, is set to launch tomorrow, says VG247. It opens with 10,000 videos for use right away, which is great, which you'll be able to watch, put into playlists and loads of other spiffy stuff that you'll probably use for parties. It's also Europe only. You can see the press release after the break. Read more »

Well, whilst Twitter worked very well until I discovered an hour tweet cap that I didn't know about beforehand, it's a little useless for this now. So instead, we'll be LiveBlogging both conferences tomorrow, right here. You're welcome to join us, and you can chat to us and everyone else in the room about it too. So you'll enjoy it and be kept up to date with the conferences, both Nintendo and Sony.

We'll be opening the LiveBlog at 4pm GMT tomorrow, an hour before the Nintendo conference starts. And we're nice and friendly, too. We'll see you there! Read more »

PSN to Get a Double Buzz! Tomorrow

Tag: B, Buzz!, Games, Playstation Store, PSN, Tomorrow

Update: Turns out the Buzz Jr.:Jungle Party pack has been on the EU store for quite a while now, thanks MAxeel. In other news, this week's PSN Update is live and it did contain the Prehistoric quiz pack. Good times!

Tomorrow (technically today, now), the Playstation Store update is to include two Buzz updates, says the PSBlog. The two updates will be $4.99, with no UK prices given, which gives us small doubts as to whether they'll be hitting the EU store as well.

One of the Quiz Packs will be all about Dinosaurs and called the Prehistoric quiz pack, featuring questions like 'It is believed that the Tyrannosaurus Rex could eat up to how many pounds of meat in one bite?' and 'During what period did the first dinosaurs appear?' Know the answers to those questions? Then get the pack tomorrow.

The other pack is called Buzz Jr.: Jungle Party, and is a collection of five mini-games that use the Buzz! buzzers to play them. It is a standalone download but requires the buzzers to play, so you probably need to own Buzz! anyway.

Both of the updates are PS3 only. We still don't know if they're only hitting the US, but we'll find out in about 14 hours or so. Read more »

Synesthesia Hits PSN Tomorrow (for Free)

The Playstation Blog has said that the PS3 exclusive, free extra level for Mirror's Edge will arrive on PSN tomorrow (29th January, technically today). He didn't specify which store, but we can definitely assume the American store will get it, whilst just crossing our fingers for the European stores.

Synesthesia (which is a brilliant name) is meant to be based on what Faith would be dreaming about (if you ask us, there are better ways to spend dreams, but this is good too). The level will curb your desires to 'leave the city behind' and to explore the 'purity of the core gameplay with nothing getting in the way', at least until Pure releases. Well, that's us sold and climaxed. We'll be waiting intently. After we've showered.

If you're wondering about the exclusivity, both PS3 and 360 will get the Time Trial pack in February, which is called Pure. This particular level, which is in the same vein as the levels in Pure, will only be available to PS3 owners, and will be available from tomorrow.

Please feel free to follow the link above to see the trailer for Pure, which looks stunning. The abstract look is really, really good, and a welcome break from the city setting.
