Is Sonic 4 in fact Sonic 2 HD?

I’m one massive Sonic fan. The SEGA Mega Drive (or Genesis, as it was branded in the US) was my first console, the original Sonic the Hedgehog my first game. As you might expect then, I’m uber psyched for the arrival of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, which will be available for download from next Tuesday via the PlayStation Store. However, my psyched state became less uber last night when it suddenly dawned on me: I've played Sonic 4 before.

Do you like to win free stuff? Who doesn't? Our contacts over at SEGA were kind enough to part with a few different codes, one of which is a code to download the newly released Sonic Adventures. The other two are DLC codes, which will allow you to play through 60 extra levels and unlock an extra character. Oh course at this point you probably going hey, where can I sign up? Sony Apologises For E3 Mistake

Sony sent this note to IGN, apologising for their error at E3 when they displayed the upcoming PS3 version of Valkyria Chronicles as if it were for the PSP.

It reads:
"NOTE: The PlayStation 3 game Valkyria Chronicles was shown at the event as a PSP title, but this was a mistake by Sony -- SEGA confirmed that this footage is from the PS3 game and there are no plans currently to announce a PlayStation Portable version of this game."

So there you go. That's maybe why it looked so good...
