
Modern Warfare 2 has been given an 18 age rating by the BBFC censorship agency today for containing ‘strong bloody violence’. And there we were thinking it would be all feather dusters and cotton wool...
Joking aside, this news makes us wonder just how horrific Infinity Ward’s sequel to Modern Warfare is going to be, given that Treyarch’s considerably graphic Call of Duty: World at War received only a 15 for containing 'strong violence and language' (no blood, then?). After further investigation, it turns out that Modern Warfare 2 is officially the first Call of Duty title to receive an 18 age rating. See for yourselves.
Only time will tell whether or not the BBFC's stern evaluation will affect unit sales, but we figure it’s unlikely. After all, as per the late Aaliyah, ‘age ain’t nothing but a number’.
