Firmware update version 3.55 is now available to download.

Eric Lempel, VP of Network Operations writes: "A new PS3 system software update, v3.55, will be released soon. This is a minor update that adds a security patch."

There are no further details regarding this firmware update.

echochrome ii is set to release on the US PlayStation Network on December 21st.
