Anyone remember this guy? This is Abe, a loveable Mudokon born into slavery and completely ignorant of his people's rich history and culture. He's also the guy who giggled every time he farted. He was the protagonist of the original 1997 PlayStation 1 title: Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee  - Freakiest. Game. Ever.

This game was a classic and a multi-award winning title. I often dig out the old PS1 to play it and I was overjoyed to hear today that the people at Just Add Water have announced that they have been working with the developers at Oddworld Inhabitants to hopefully bring back our favorite characters once again, they have said on their website:

EU ‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (15th April 2010)

This week the EU PlayStation store sees several discounted games, along with the addition of Section 8. Also, the first episode of Sam and Max: The Devil's Playhouse is available to download for those who pre-ordered.

Mike Kebby writes "I just want to remind you all that our PSP Favourites promotion will be ending today, so you don’t have that much longer to take advantage of those crazy prices, just a mere matter of hours in fact. Oddworld Titles Confirmed for PS3

Abe's Odyssey

At PS3Vault, we do our very best to refrain from using the phrase ‘we told you so’ unless it's absolutely necessary. We make no apologies, however, for screaming from the rooftops when our presuppositions are confirmed by an official body.

You might remember us hinting last month that Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee could be making its way to the PlayStation Store. Well, in a recent interview with Bitmob’s Toby Davis, Creative Director and co-founder of Oddworld Inhabitants Lorne Lanning has announced that Abe’s first two adventures are destined for PS3:

TD: Will the gaming community ever see a re-release of the first two Oddworld games on the PSN store for PS3?

LL: Funny you should ask, because they are already on their way. We just signed the contract this week and the original Abe games will officially be coming to PSN very soon.

See? We told you so.
