Assassin's Creed II banner

Ubisoft and Penguin Books have formed a unique partnership that will spark the publication of Assassin’s Creed Renaissance, a novel based on upcoming PlayStation 3 blockbuster Assassin’s Creed 2.

Penguin is confident that Ubisoft’s fascinating new storyline and well-developed characters will translate impeccably into an appealing literary work suited to fans of historical fiction and gaming alike.

Editorial Director Alex Clarke had this to say about the new venture:

'Penguin is hugely excited to be publishing the novelisation to the second Assassin's Creed game [...] this partnership presents at last a way for traditional book-publishing to crossover with the ever-growing and increasingly exciting world of gaming media.'

Rob Cooper, Managing Director of Ubisoft, echoes Clarke’s enthusiasm:

'We’re delighted to be working with Penguin Books [...] Assassin’s Creed Renaissance will offer the public a new and exciting way to experience the narrative world of Assassin’s Creed II. The book deal with Penguin, along with the Assassin’s Creed Lineage film series, is part of an ambition to bring the Assassin’s Creed franchise to multiple entertainment media [...] [and] provide a truly immersive experience.'

Assassin’s Creed Renaissance will be published on November 26th, six days after the release of Assassin’s Creed 2. We’ve updated our diaries; have you?
