Since the release of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, gamers and critics alike (ourselves included) are praising almost every aspect of Naughty Dog’s third-person action adventure title – from its engrossing storyline and spectacularly well-written script, to the astounding visual presentation standards and compassionate, cared-about characters. And we’re not even scratching the surface.
If that wasn’t enough, Naughty Dog’s Creative Director Amy Hennig is continuing to excite followers of the Uncharted franchise by supplying the media with precious snippets of information concerning the future for Nathan Drake. Her comments in a recent interview with New York Magazine are particularly noteworthy; the production of an Uncharted film is underway:
NYM: Columbia Pictures is developing an Uncharted movie. Can you tell us anything about it?
AH: It’s definitely in the works, I can tell people. We’ve got the best possible partners we could in Columbia Pictures. If anybody’s got any fears of them not understanding the material or not loving it as much as we do, they can wipe those fears away, because these guys really get it. I can say from the meetings I’ve had with them so far, their hearts and their heads are absolutely in the right place.
Whatever next? Action figures? An animated television series? A Nathan Drake clothing range, perhaps? 'We want to explore new ideas regardless of what that idea might be associated with project-wise', says Hennig. From that statement, we imagine the possibilities are endless.
Oh, we almost forgot; does anyone think we should recommend Paul Walker for the part of Drake?
