It's Thursday and time for the EU PlayStation Store update. This week features several discounts on some games and lots of DLC.

Mike Kebby, of the EU PlayStation Store Team, writes "This week’s update really is an eclectic mix, and quite heavy on the offers too. Continued from last week we the latest batch of special offers which are here for one more week (look out for the new batch next Thursday). We have permanent price reductions on the first two episodes of Blue Toad Murder Files, as well as the mini title Vempire. Finally, our friends at SEGA have rolled out some reductions across a range of their catalogue, and these will be available until the 29th of April".

The full list can be viewed after the break.

EA is once again dropping support for a few online games. I would be surprised if any people still played these games online however, it's still sad to see them go. All servers will be closed on March 16th 2010.

  • Def Jam ICON – PS3 and Xbox 360
  • The Godfather – PS3 and Xbox 360
  • The Simpsons Game – PS3 and Xbox 360
  • The Lord of the Rings: Conquest – PC, PS3 and Xbox 360
  • Mercenaries 2 – PC
  • NFS ProStreet – PSP
  • NFS Carbon – PSP

GamerBytes has a list of the top ten downloaded PSN games and Flower, the absolutely brilliant art-game from TheGamingCompany, is at number one, followed by Wheel of Fortune at two and Noby Noby Boy in third. Other interesting entries is Mortal Kombat 2 at fifth and, inexplicably, Red Baron Arcade at seventh (avoid it like the plague).

Apparently, several US sites have got what we like to think are cryptic messages from Sony that tell them to look out for a Playstation-related announcement on March 31st.

We don't know what it is, you don't know what it is and the US sites don't know what it is. Anything is just prediction work at the moment. We'll tell you when we know (probably on the 31st). It's only 3 days away, anyway. Read more »
