TGS 2010: ICO, Shadow of the Colossus HD coming to PS3

According to the latest publication of Famitsu, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus look to be receiving the remastering treatment. No details were given for a US or EU release, however the Japanese market looks to be getting them separately, rather than in a collection.

Expect a more official unveiling later today in Japan, or later tonight in the US.

New white PS3s coming to Japan, and maybe America and Europe

Have you ever wanted a white PS3? Without using spray paint? Well now you can buy one in Japan, and possibly the United States and Europe sometime soon. Not only is Sony bringing a new “classic white” color to the market, they are also bringing two new hard drive sizes: 160GB and 320GB models. PlayStation 3 sales reach 5 Million in Japan

The fine people over at Famitsu have just announced that the PlayStation 3 has reached a huge milestone in its life having sold more than 5 million units in Japan alone. The actual number (as of April11th) was an incredible 5,001,598, and that number is only going to get larger as time goes on. Read more »

The Japanese can expect Heavy Rain on February 18th 2010. No, PS3Vault has not been hijacked by a ruthless gang of over-confident, omnipresent weathermen. We just happen to know where and when Quantic Dream’s film noir thriller title will be hitting the PlayStation 3 first.

And it’s about time; Quantic Dream originally announced the project back in 2006 at the E3 exhibition, where a technical demo entitled ‘The Casting’ was presented to the press and general public, but mysteriously Heavy Rain went incognito soon afterwards. Well it’s very much in the media spotlight now, promising never before seen levels of character interaction, heightened emotional content, context-sensitive decision making mechanics, and a plot more changeable than a schizophrenic’s behaviour.

Confirmed by Famitsu Magazine it seems, gamers of Japan will be able to experience these concepts before the rest of the world. We’re praying that North American and European dates will feature in the coming weeks’ forecast.
