If you've been good this year then Gran Turismo 5 could just be yours by Christmas as the massively delayed racing title draws ever closer to a UK release, we can confirm.

Gran Turismo is expected 'soon' according to Polyphonic Digital Head Kazunori Yamauchi, who expects the long-awaited title to be ready before Christmas.

Speaking in the new issue of PSM3 magazine, Polyphony Digital’s President Kazunori Yamauchi comments that the current build of Gran Turismo 5 occasionally dips below 60fps, which could be why the studio decided to move the title’s release date from early November to, um... later than early November.

Yesterday, Just Push Start reported that Polyphony Digital’s racing sim Gran Turismo 5 won't be available in Russia until closer to Christmas due to technical reasons. Today, it's America's turn, and it's likely the rest of the world will be next.

Today on the PlayStation EU Blog the first of many news pieces on what to expect from Gran Turismo have finally arrived. Penrose Tackie – European Brand Manager for PlayStation EU has said;

"I am absolutely delighted to be able to bring what will hopefully be very exciting news to those patiently (or impatiently) waiting for more information on Gran Turismo 5. During E3, our American colleagues unveiled their rather tasty looking Collector’s Edition. Today I can now confirm the special editions of Gran Turismo that will be heading Europe’s way later this year.
