I thought I do this little profile on the Ghost of Spartan since this month will probably be dubbed the God of War month as we see the series draw the curtains. What makes Kratos tick? Well we can trace this back to the very first game in the series when David Jaffe came through the roof with this beast of a game. Undoubtedly it became one of the most brutal games to grace to the PS2 console then. We saw the nightmares which haunt him as he travel the seas; visions of him filling with blood lust and ultimately selling his soul to Ares, the God of War then. God of War III is one of the most anticipated games for the PS3. SCEA and Santa Monica Studios announced the first Ultimate Edition for God of War and this edition looks amazing. Starting with the Sculpted Replica of Pandora’s Box and ending with all the Exclusive Digital Content this makes it a must have for all Kratos fans out there.

First and foremost, welcome back Gamoc. I, like many others I'm sure, look forward to the impending tsunami of posts that will ensue when your laptop is returned to you, fit and healthy.

Now, to business. Two days ago we reported that PS2 titles God of War I & II would be making their way to the PS3 in blu-ray format - complete with trophy support and refined 720p visuals, and repackaged as a God of War Collection, no doubt.

Sadly, we have disappointing news for EU residents. SCEE has explained to VG247 that the God of War remakes won’t reach European territories until next year at the earliest:

'We are currently looking into options to bring God of War I and II to SCEE consumers on PS3; however it will not be possible to release the games this calendar year. We will provide further information in due course.'

However, referring directly to the VG247 article, Sony Santa Monica plans to release the collection in the US prior to Christmas. Should the end product be region-free, the impatient ones among you might want to think about orchestrating a sneaky import...

If you missed out on the God of War series so far, you should be happy to hear that you'll get a chance to play through them this holiday season in glorious HD. That's right people, both God of War games will be available on a single Blu-Ray disk at 1280 x 720 resolution. But that's not all folks, the games will now feature trophy support, which means that you will be all the more rewarded for decapitating and brutalizing the minions of the Greek God's.
