One of the special times we remember LBP getting a patch was shortly before the wonderful Metal Gear Solid level pack. It was glorious. This time, LBP has got an 80mb patch up for download, completely unannounced and mysterious.

Call us crazy (and people do), but we have a feeling that we're getting us some new levels soon. Get ready to answer that question over and over again.

Well, whilst the hints aren't particularly subtle, you have to be happy that you know what's coming. Here's the first blatantly obvious tease Ghostbusters DLC for LittleBigPlanet and here's the second, featuring the image in the banner above. We don't know if this will be a level pack like the Metal Gear Solid pack a while ago (which was awesome) or something more like a level kit, with stickers and costumes, but we can hope for the latter.

It's possible, too, since Sony own the rights to the movie. Ghostbusters levels? A proton pack for sackboy? That can't be bad. Cross everything you can. Make other people cross everything they can. Got kids? Tape their fingers crossed. Get it?

Oh dear, it's happened again, but this time it's stranger. According to GameZine, the PS3 version of Ghostbusters is not in a HD resolution and is, in fact, at 960x540, whilst the 360 is at proper 720p.

What is especially strange about this is that the lead platform for Ghostbusters was actually the PS3, meaning that it was fully expected to be the other way around, if anything. What does this mean? It means that, if you own both consoles, you'd better spring for the 360 version of the game if you want to avoid low resolution textures and blurred images.

SCEE have swooped in to publish Ghostbusters as a timed exclusive, which will release on 15th June in the UK. They've snatched it up rather abruptly close to the release (as you can tell) for Sony consoles, whilst Atari will be publishing the other versions 'later in the year'. A nice surprise, if you ask us. Nicely done, Sony.

Note: Forgot to mention that this is in PAL regions only, the release of Ghostbusters in the US will go ahead as normal.

Why Did Brutal Legend and Ghostbusters Get Canned?

There has been quite a bit of press about the Activision / Blizzard merger, and the resulting limbo of various major titles, including two that really do deserve to be saved: Brutal Legend and Ghostbusters.

If you've managed to dodge the media on these titles so far, Brutal Legend features various legends of rock (Jack Black, Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford, Ronnie James Dio) in a heavy-metal-inspired action-adventure... Ghostbusters doesn't really need introduction, and brings back the quartet from the films (plus you, the gamer), is written by the same comedic team and features the same great smack-talking, ghost-busting, witty backtalk as the films.

By all accounts, both games are almost complete (Ghostbusters was on for a Holiday '08 release, Brutal Legend for Q4/08, Q1/09.

So - why should Activision / Blizzard have kept hold of Brutal Legend and Ghostbusters? Let's look a the first one, and at the talent behind it, Tim Schafer.
