If you can cast your mind back to yesterday’s LittleBigPlanet GOTY Edition post, you might remember the brief mention of a new ‘Play, Create, Share’ game called ModNation Racers: the do-it-yourself karting experience that allows players to create their own wacky characters and courses to play and share online, strangely enough.

Well, at Gamescom 2009, San Diego Studio showed the course creation trailer to prove to its audience just how easy the facility is to use. Players can design a race-worthy circuit in mere minutes, the process being comparatively quicker than building the average LBP level.

PSN is going to be down during Sony's conference today at GamesCom (6pm if you live in England). Obviously, Sony have given the usual reason, saying it's 'scheduled maintenance', but with this 'scheduled maintenance' falling dead on top of their conference, it's going to take a lot more than that to convince us that it's not a little bit more than that.

What do we think? Well, we think - nay, hope - that it's video store finally making it's way over to the EU territories. Or maybe a firmware update. It could be anything, really, so we're going to shape our fingers into the letters 'E' and 'U' and leave it at that. Feel free to make your own predictions in the comments below.
