Firmware 3.00 Banner

When it comes to PS3 development, cross-title communication is one of the most – if not the most – frequently requested functionalities.  The Xbox has it, we all want it, but there has been no edivdence to suggest that Sony will implement it any time soon. Until now.

The origin of the rumour was VG247, who ended the article with an arrogant 'Just remember where you heard it first'. Joystiq contacted SCEA, who proceeded to say 'Those rumors are completely untrue, nothing has been announced or confirmed for upcoming PlayStation firmware, and this is just wild speculation.' So it's untrue.

Of course, that's exactly what you might expect Sony to say, but there you go. Let's just cross our fingers for background downloading of patches, eh?
