Love Fat Princess, but hate the buggy online mode? Well worry no more, because the 1.02 patch is out now and it will fix all your problems. well, at least all your problems in the game. The patch is available in the US and should be rolled out to the EU next week sometime, so that's just bad luck if you're English. If you're interested, the details of the patch and it's fixes are after the break.

If you've bought Fat Princess (and you should have), you've probably noticed the online issues. A large chunk of users have been experiencing lag, whilst another large chunk just haven't even been able to connect to any online games. Frustrating, of course, but help is at hand - Titan Studios are working on a patch to fix the problems.

The lag fix is already in testing, whilst they're working with Sony to get the connection issues fix into testing as soon as possible. All you have to do is wait.

Whilst you're waiting, you can play single player - it's good practice and has some witty introductions to the story levels, or you could practice your fighting in Gladiate mode. It is, at times, possible to get around the connection issues - you can try connecting to a game via the Play With Friends option, which may work. It's a bit hit and miss, but there's nothing else we can do until the patch. Or you could wait for our review, which will go live later today. You're really spoilt for choice.

Home: Game Launching, Quests and Surprises

Home Banner

We've got a double-barrel of EU Home news for you today, courtesy of the EU PS Blog. First up, Motorstorm 2: Pacific Rift will be getting game launching. There's also a promise of more MotorStorm/Home news 'soon', whenever that is.

However, the second piece of news is much more interesting. The Event Space is set to be transformed into a Fat Princess competition, called the Quest for Cake. As you might expect from the title, the competition is all about collecting cake that is found in the Event Space, which will have had a Fat Princess make-over, of course.

There will be eight pieces of cake found in cages and, to unlock the cage and feed your Princess, you'll have to search around for clues. Once you manage to unlock all the cages, collect the cake and feed it to the Princess, you'll be rewarded with the Princess' own throne for use in your apartment.

Other than that, there will be a couple of surprises. We don't know what the surprises are, so you'll have to wait and see - but we know that it involves the undead in some way. Zombies. We never get enough of zombies. We'll be logging into Home tomorrow, that's for sure - though only after we've played the hell out of Fat Princess.

Fat Princess to Release THIS Week

FatPrincessBanner

Fat Princess has been dated and priced, and we're now looking forward to this week's store update. The game will release this Thursday all over the world. That's 3 days. It's going to cost you $15 if you're American, and, whilst prices in other regions haven't been confirmed, it's probably around £10 and €15 if previous price conversions are to be expected. Which they probably are.

In case you aren't already aware and bouncing about in your seats in anticipation, we'll (try to) explain the premise. Fat Princess is a capture the flag game but, instead of a flag, you have a Princess. The Princess starts off the match thin and, to make her fatter and, therefore, harder (read: slower) for the other team to transport to their castle, you feed her cake.

[Warning: Terrible reference/pun coming up] So, let's hope that the cake is not a lie so we can get into some cake-feeding, cartoon-stabbing action on Thursday. I'll see you in my castle or over it's walls, eh?
