Making its debut back in January this year, Darksiders' immersible storyline, epic scale, and gratifying game-play cause it to stand out as one of the best adventure / RPG / action hybrids in recent memory. It now appears that the sequel to developer Vigil Games apocalyptic title has been delayed, as THQ have announced that Darksiders 2 will likely not hit store shelves until early to mid 2013. During an investors call last week, company CEO Brian Farrell stated:

Socom 4 delayed till 2011

socom41

Are you staring at the headline in disbelief? We are sad to say that Socom 4 will not be arriving this year, and has been pushed back to early 2011. Were you look forward to playing Socom 4 this year? During our hands-on time with Socom 4 at E3, this title seemed to be well on track for release this year.

Jeremy Dunham, Senior Community Manager at Zipper Interactive writes, "While we're certainly aware that you've been looking forward to playing SOCOM 4 this year, we don't want to take any shortcuts. Instead, we want to deliver the best and most immersive SOCOM game we possibly can and we're going to use our extra time to do just that."

A little extra time never hurts, and it's a shame Socom: Confrontation didn't get some extra time as well.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Class Upgrade DLC delayed

Battlefield_Bad_Company_2

Now that EA has finally ironed out the creases associated with the in-game Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Store, we can surmise from its extensive 'to be announced' content list that there’s a lot of DLC in development for this addictive FPS in addition to the named second Map Pack and class upgrades.

As reported by The Power Review, Amazon.com has recently sent an email to all customers who have pre-ordered The God of War Collection informing them that the game’s release has been deferred. But don’t worry; you only need to wait one more week:

Hello from Amazon.com.

We have received new release date information related to your pre-ordered video game in the order you placed on [omitted] 2009 (Order# [omitted]). The release date for the video game listed below has been changed by the publisher, and we want to provide you with a new delivery estimate based on the new release date:

“God of War: Collection”
Release date: November 17 2009

If we’re honest, any publisher thinking about releasing a title during the same week that Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 hits the shelves either has extraordinary confidence in their product, or is suffering from a delusional episode of some kind.

As it is written in Genesis 1:1-2:4, God was able to create the world in seven days. Just think what you could do with that extra week...

Trine Gets Delayed

Trine Banner

Trine fans have been waiting all month for the game to be released, and tomorrow promised to reward their waiting. After all, the game's been set for a July release for a while now - and it's been available on PC via Steam for a few weeks already. Just like the thief in the game itself, Trine has eluded us all again, as it's been delayed.

The game needs some last minute bug fixing, apparently, and it's not going to make it out tomorrow (which, for those of you who are less observant, is the last PSN update of July). Frozenbyte said:

Unfortunately, Trine isn’t coming to PSN this week, and this time it’s our fault as there was discovered yet another small bug which needed to be fixed. I can’t tell for sure when the release is coming, as no-one really seems to know. Also, I have no idea are EU and NA releases timed differently. For us, not knowing is also a bit tough, but I hope it’s eventually worth all the waiting.

So yes, you're going to have to go back to waiting. However, since Fat Princess releases tomorrow, we're sure you'll be very busy. Whilst you're waiting, you could go and check out our feature on LBP's best music levels. That should keep you busy.
