Socom Confrontation Gets Patch 1.6

In spite of all it's problems, Socom: Confrontation is getting patched to version 1.6. For those that still play, this should be a welcome addition to a online experience that has been hampered with technical issues."We are happy to announce that Patch 1.6 will be available for download tomorrow, December 10th at 2am PST (5am EST, 4am CST, 3am MST, 10am GMT, 7pm JST). Please note that the server will not be available during the update but should be available within 1 hour of the release time.". As a special bonus, the patch also includes some DLC, perhaps as a token of peace to the fans. I can't imagine, they are thrilled to patch Socom: Confronation again. Socom Confrontation Delayed in EU

Unfortunately, the latest installment in the Socom series has been delayed until early 2009 for some unexplained reason. Personally, I was looking forward to this and intended to get it in the bundle with the new Sony bluetooth headset. I can't help but think Socom has lost sales because of this as anyone who wanted the Headset will get it without the game.

Socom was an online gaming staple for the PS2, being very popular and rightly so. It's a shame it's got problems. I'm still holding onto my faith, though, and so should you.
