Robert Bowling, Community Manager at Infinity Ward, has recently told CVG with unshakeable confidence that no other war FPS can topple Modern Warfare 2’s position as the most popular online console game of 2010 thus far.

Many CoD-ers have been expressing fears that when they receive their copy of Modern Warfare 2 in eight days time they will be obliterated in online multiplayer, by those lucky enough to have nabbed an early copy of the game and unlocked many of the perks and attachments – if not all of them.

They need not worry, however; 11 hours ago (at time of writing) Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling tweeted that leaderboards and ranks will be wiped before public release to level the playing field:

'It definitely looks like a full leaderboard / level reset is in order just before the release date to ensure no unfair advantages.'

Now all he needs to do is break their thumbs and we’re in business.
