Years ago L.A Noire was announced to the masses and many people including myself, never thought this title would see the light of day. To my surprise I woke up and found a nice email from the folks at Rockstar with a link to the first trailer for L.A Noire. Not only was it long past due, but it also looked very impressive.

Talking to Gamerzines at an Ubisoft press event held in London last week, Production Manager Jean-Francois Boivin spoke for the first time about Assassin’s Creed 3, confirming that it will feature a new setting and a new protagonist.

Over the course of this week, the team at Kotaku has been receiving emails from anonymous tipsters containing a box art image for something called Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Ubisoft has since come forward to verify the image is authentic, and that this will be the next title in the Assassin’s Creed lineage.

Geoff Keighley, Canadian video game journalist and Executive Producer and host of Spike TV’s GameTrailers TV, has made an interesting statement on proverbial online grapevine Twitter recently; the Assassin’s Creed series is going multiplayer:

‘In Ubi earnings release also mentioned a new Assassins Creed "episode" with an online multiplayer mode is coming this year.’

Whether this multiplayer mode will be competitive or cooperative in nature is unknown. Whatever the decision, we imagine few will be ungrateful of the chance to take part in stealth-based stabathons with other gamers.

Because we’ve yet to read the said earnings report ourselves, we’re reluctant to discard our ‘pinches of salt’ just yet but, if the above is true, it’ll be interesting to see if Ubisoft’s title will one day pose any threat to 2009’s Game of the Year Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
