This post on the EU PS forums by one Mark Bowles (no, we don't know if he bowls, stop making your own jokes), who is apparently the PS3 Brand Manager, says that Sony are going to release a firmware update 'soon'. We're betting on tomorrow, to be honest.
However, in one of those wonderful treats Sony likes to give us, you don't even have to wait until it's released to be disappointed by it! Hollywood Bowles says; 'The playback quality of some PLAYSTATION 3 format software has been improved.'
To be fair, though, that's pretty much just a stock 'detail' that Sony pull out with most firmware updates, so there might (just might) be something we're not expecting. Examiner.com, however, are convinced that the update will contain something we've wanted for ages, but it's something that won't benefit us in any way for a while. They're very, very vague, giving about as much useful details as you might expect from people who could very well be making it all up, but that's all we've got to go on. Just cross your fingers - maybe they'll move the clock from under the battery indicator. Read more »
