PS3 Slim Banner

MCV have confirmed what the upcoming release dates & configuration for the 250GB Slim PS3 Bundles are;

  • October 1st is when we can expect the bundles to hit stores with either any two PS3 platinum releases or Sucker Punch's 'Infamous'.
  • October 16th will see the release of the 'Uncharted 2; Among Theives' bundle that I'd previously covered.
  • Other news reveals that there will also be a 'movie' bundle containing not only Sony's Blu-ray remote control but also Blu-ray movies of 'X-Men Origins; Wolverine' & 'The Dark Knight' scheduled for release on October 19th.

Expect the bundles to cost £284.99 which represents a £35 increase over the standard PS3 Slim pricing. Thankfully, with both these bundles and the 250GB Slim officially announced I can turn my attention to other matters, such as where these 250GB bundles are going to be available.

A bundle of news for your eyeballs today.

Eurogamer has  a lot of evidence about the upcoming 250GB PS3 slim. According to two UK retailers a 'definite' October release is slated along with three possible bundles and a provincial price of £299.99. What are these bundles? Well, none other then Assasins Creed 2, Grand Turismo 5 & Uncharted 2.

Engadget lends extra credibility to this with lovely leaked photos of the possible Uncharted 2 Bundle. There's still no official announcement from Sony yet, though.

According to an FCC filing that Sony (posing as Sand Dollar Enterprises) made for the PS3 Slim, there is another PS3 coming at some time in the future. Code named the (PS3 Slim) CECH-2001B, the new console will be a PS3 slim, but will boast a vastly larger 250GB hard drive.

Those of you that read this blog regularly know that it's pretty easy (and Sony supports) upgrading the size of your PS3's hard drive. However, having 250GB for all sorts of DLC right out of the gate is pretty awesome too!

Stay tuned for details, we'll let you know what we hear.
