This is what everyone has been waiting for, and at last we finally hear something about it. Earlier this morning, “CydoniaX” (Home Manager at Sony) posted a message on the Playstation.Blog that pretty much confirmed that we will receive: Voice Chat across games, XMB Voice messaging (30 sec clips) and HOME Game Launching for all games at some point down the line. His exact words were:
“All that stuff is still in development, game launching started with Warhawk and should be supported by all future game spaces now. It takes time, but we haven’t forgotten about all the stuff that our users really want!”

As you’re probably aware, the new Playstation Firmware version 2.10 was released today – and you probaby know what it adds too.
For those who don’t know, it adds AVI and WMV playback to the video, a pitch changer for your mic, and Bitmap 3 in images, and the 1.1 Bluray update. But that’s not all!

“Starting last week, PS3 owners started reporting that their next gen console would not read their Blu-Ray discs. Some users reported that their PS3 would not even read DVD’s. All reports started to come in after gamers made the upgrade to 2.01.”

Avid gamer A.R.K. has released v1.5 of his Theme Creator Software. No need to go through tedious xml files or 100s of menus to create/edit your theme. This tool is a WYSIWYG tool that is extremely functional and user-friendly; you can change your just by just pointing and clicking to change theme icons.

DivX has announced that it will be bringing its technology to Sony’s PlayStation 3 console, allowing users to experience AVI videos as opposed to converting files into PS3-recognised coding, such as MPEG 3.
