There were rumours some time ago about Sony looking into a controller that would break apart (in a good way). Seem this has become more solid with the release of patent information on a design for a controller that can sense motion…and have click on parts

For those of you who are unsure as to what exactly PlayTV is, here’s the Wiki definition:
PlayTV is a twin-channel DVB-T tuner peripheral with digital video recorder (DVR) software which allows users to watch and record television programmes to the hard drive of a PlayStation 3 console for later viewing.

Sony has recently stated that the rumbling controller will be released on 2nd July in Europe (4th in the UK!) at the premium price of £39.99.

Sony announced today that the UK PS3 community will be receiving a new system software update on Tuesday December 18th. The announcement was posted through Playstation UK’s system software updates page and details all the new features that will be added with this update.

We have word from the Tokyo Gaming Show that Burnout Paradise is rumble-equipped and the demo station where you can play it sports a controller that rumbles. The controller in question looks just like a normal Six-Axis controller so it might just be a prototype.
