I don’t know about you, but I love a good swear from time to time. I find first-person shooters in particular (Modern Warfare 2 being the main culprit) encourage expletives to gush from my mouth at a speed comparable to that of the gallons that cascade down Niagara Falls. Wow, what a picture that paints…
So when [...]

People continue to ask me why I, a Modern Warfare 2 veteran, am choosing to abandon all I know and convert to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 when it launches on March 5th (aside from the fact it’s an excellent title, of course). In light of today’s post, perhaps their relentless probing will cease.

Were you a fan of the first Dead Space? Did you enjoy exploring the visceral and unsettling atmosphere of the Ishimura spacecraft? If you did, we might have some bad news for you.

You’d think after Sandy Ravage’s first Free-for-all booster hunt that these cheaters would’ve learned their lesson – or at least discovered some better-concealed crevices in which to boost their butts off. Obviously some people are glutton for punishment.

It’s becoming common knowledge that Sony’s nameless motion-based peripheral is predicted to hit the market sometime in autumn this year, contrary to the original spring release forecast. So we figure it’s time to publicise information of a less common nature.
Sony Computer Entertainment’s President and Group CEO Kazuo Hirai has been promising the gaming world that he [...]

We feel it’s important that, every now and then, PS3 websites take a breather from cutting-edge news and post, to quote Monty Python, ‘something completely different’.
For many, Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 is the bane of their existence due to the fact the game’s jam-packed with glitchers, trash-talkers, laggers and boosters. Enter Sandy Ravage, who recently [...]

European PS3 owners will be able to download the ModNation Racers beta from the PlayStation Store after the update on January 21st. There is one small but fairly significant catch, however.
The beta of this Mario Kart-murdering wonder is restricted to just 100,000 downloads. Once this limit is reached the content will vanish from the network [...]

As announced by Jeremy Dunham, writer for The Official MAG Blog, the previously closed MAG beta will be open to the public from January 4th 2010.
The 256-player first-person shooter recently went gold in America, Japan, Korea and Asia, and is about to undergo the manufacturing process in preparation for worldwide distribution early next year. In the [...]

So update 1.05 for the PlayStation 3 version of Modern Warfare 2 is now live. Matchmaking has supposedly been improved, though we’re still not happy. Why? Glitchers.
We’re getting increasingly fed up of gamers exploiting the suicide bomber-esque Javelin glitch and players doing things like hiding inside rocks to claim kills from unsuspecting passersby. Thankfully Infinity Ward’s Community Manager [...]

It looks like Take-Two have taken too much on in the way of work.
According to VG247, the company’s fiscal results report for Q4 2009 states that, while release dates for Bioshock 2, Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption remain unchanged, Max Payne 3’s release has been pushed back to late 2010. The report reads:
‘BioShock 2 is on [...]

How many of you have heard that Xbox’s Gears of War series might be coming to PlayStation 3? Actually, never mind, it’s not important, because the rumours have been officially nullified.
As reported by VG Arabia, Design Director of the Gears franchise ‘Cliffy B’ was a guest on Kotaku Radio recently and, when asked if the [...]

Opinion article time, people…
Personally, I’ve always thought the idea of up to 256 armed lunatics ‘gunning it out’ online would be an incredible (if slightly chaotic) experience. Sadly, I’ve been far too preoccupied to participate in the ongoing MAG Beta myself, so I’ve been speaking to a handful of individuals who are taking part to [...]

The word on TheSixthAxis is that fungus-filled strategy game Mushroom Wars will be hitting the PlayStation Network again – this time in the format of a playable demo.
Ok, so we realise developer Creat Studios has adopted the try-before-you-buy philosophy a little late, releasing a demo weeks after the full game was released for purchase, but that’s a technicality. [...]
