Having played through and reviewed Battle of Forli, the somewhat underwhelming add-on for Ubisoft’s historical sandbox epic Assassin’s Creed II, I admittedly had reservations about Bonfire of the Vanities, the second promised piece of DLC for this title. Still, it would have been unfair of me to overlook the thirteenth chapter of Ezio Auditore da [...]

It’s becoming common knowledge that Sony’s nameless motion-based peripheral is predicted to hit the market sometime in autumn this year, contrary to the original spring release forecast. So we figure it’s time to publicise information of a less common nature.
Sony Computer Entertainment’s President and Group CEO Kazuo Hirai has been promising the gaming world that he [...]

Assuming those of you reading this review have already hopped, skipped and stabbed your way through Assassin’s Creed II, I ask you this: do you remember when Animus techie Rebecca Crane desynchronised Desmond Miles from Ezio in chapter 11, explaining the Animus data had become corrupt, before throwing you into chapter 14 sporting some fashionable face [...]

Geoff Keighley, Canadian video game journalist and Executive Producer and host of Spike TV’s GameTrailers TV, has made an interesting statement on proverbial online grapevine Twitter recently; the Assassin’s Creed series is going multiplayer:
‘In Ubi earnings release also mentioned a new Assassins Creed “episode” with an online multiplayer mode is coming this year.’
Whether this multiplayer mode [...]

Our friends at Ubisoft have been kind enough to relinquish additional information concerning the two Assassin’s Creed II downloadable content packages planned for next year, so we thought we’d spread the word.
‘The Battle of Forli’ is expected towards the end of January, priced at $3.99 (European pricing TBC). Ezio joins forces with Machiavelli and Caterina [...]

The Italian Renaissance was a pivotal historical moment, a time of rebirth, enlightenment and inspiration that emerged from what Renaissance humanists labelled the Dark Ages. More relevantly it is the setting for Assassin’s Creed II, a continuation of the struggle between the liberty-seeking Assassins and the oppressive Templars. The appeal of the original Assassin’s Creed [...]

The PS3 releases this month have been as strong as ever, and fortunately the great games are still flooding in for Christmas time. Hit the jump for the latest scores.

Assassin’s Creed was unquestionably a big hit. Assassin’s Creed II looks to be an even bigger hit. But one has to wonder: after how many technically-impressive, gracefully-executed stealth kills will Ubisoft’s gameplay model start to get old?
When Xbox World 360 spoke to the game’s Creative Director Patrice Fortier about the likelihood of a third instalment, [...]

It seems like that, without regular updates on a game’s development, the internet sprouts rumours about that game being cancelled. It’s like the whole internet has paranoid delusions.
The latest subject of this is The Agency, the PS3-exclusive massively multiplayer shooter from SOE. There have, apparently, been rumours around lately that the game is going to [...]
