Firmware 3.10 went live earlier today, bringing with it Facebook integration facilities, a colour palette for your gamercard, and a more convenient way to view and manage pictures and photographs. However, nothing was mentioned about the return of error code [80022A07].
For anyone who has yet to encounter error code [80022A07], this alphanumeric nuisance signifies a [...]

For example, you’ll be able to manage your Facebook profile through your PlayStation Network account. You’ll be able to change the colour of your gamercard [...]

When it comes to PS3 development, cross-title communication is one of the most – if not the most – frequently requested functionalities. The Xbox has it, we all want it, but there has been no edivdence to suggest that Sony will implement it any time soon. Until now.
A VG247 source has recently claimed that Sony plans to incorporate cross-title voice [...]

Firmware 3.01 is live, and optional. To install, or not to install?
At present, is it not known whether all grievances regarding Firmware 3.0 have been addressed in this discretionary new patch, but we are hopeful that system stability has now been restored to the PS3. If in-game freezing and controller malfunction issues have been resolved, [...]

Today is my birthday. At the ripe old age of 25, I feel no different to how I felt after turning 24, but like most birthdays this morning I’ve been overwhelmed with text messages, emails, cards and presents as a way of congratulating me on surviving this far in life. Only kidding.
So I’m wondering what news [...]

My PS3 crashed at 2am last night. Due in no small part, I suspect, to the wonders of firmware 3.0, it just stopped working as I tried to turn Batman: Arkham Asylum off, so I had to hold my finger down on the power touchpad/button/thing until it powered down. After I restarted it, fearing the [...]

Since its release earlier this week, Firmware 3.0 has become the new Marmite: some of us love it, some of us hate it.
The newest sore point, as noted on the official PlayStation 3 forum, relates to controller connectivity. Various models of Sony’s Sixth Axis wireless control pad – most notably the Ceramic White DualShock 3 [...]

You’ve all noticed it. The terrible placed battery indicator that pops up when you press the PS button – directly over the time, so you’ve got to wait a few seconds just to check the time on your PS3. It’s a silly mistake, just how they managed to make it is beyond us, really.
At least [...]

The emotion engine is the CPU chip in PS2s and the first backwards compatible PS3s. It essentially enables the playing of PS2 games. So, if Sony patent emulation of this emotion engine, it logically leads to speculation that PS2 backwards compatibility is on it’s way to a PS3 near you, via firmware updates.
Exciting news, but [...]
