Red Dead Redemption is a vast open-world set in early 20th century Western America. After a string of sucessful titles such as Grand Theft Auto, Bully and Midnight Club, Rockstar has new limits to push in their latest sandbox game. You can expect plenty of horse ridin’, gunslingin’ action throughout a realistic and beautiful world.

According to an analysis of the final product disc performed by a Japanese site (check it out here), Square Enix’s upcoming RPG, Final Fantasy XIII, contains 32.6 gigabytes of cut scene information and 6.8 gigabytes of actual game content. Square Enix has released some new media for the highly anticipated Final Fantasy 13, due to release in March. The trailer showcases some good voice acting and some phenomenal cut-scenes packed with emotion. Square Enix president Yoichi Wada has stated in a recent Tokyo Q&A session with IT Media that a release date for FFXIII will be announced in the next few weeks.
“We’ll be making an announcement in a few weeks,” said Wada.

Whilst Square Enix said they won’t be bringing the blu-ray demo of FFXIII to the west, they meant the ‘blu-ray’ part rather than the demo. They’re checking the possibility of bringing it as a downloadable, which will surely make a large chunk of the PS3-owning population very happy indeed.

According to TSA, the Final Fantasy XIII demo is not in native 1080p. The cutscenes are, but the actual gameplay is upscaled from 720p, which is a little disappointing or a little uninteresting, depending on who you are. …In Japan, of course. The Japanese PS3 version only, unfortunately, the other versions will follow later (i.e. probably not 2009). The director and writer of the game, Motomu Toriyama, told Famitsu that ‘Development is going favourable for the 2009 launch’.

Japan are going to get a special edition 160gb PS3 with a Cloud Wolf logo, a copy of the FF VII: Advent Children Complete blu-ray and the FFXIII demo for ¥49,980 (about £380). Lucky buggers. Don’t expect this to leave Japan, at least not for a long time, we’re not even getting the demo yet. [...]
