UPDATE 1: According to thegamereviews.com, “The new game-types were suppose to go live this weekend [2nd August 08], but they have found critical bugs that need to be removed before the new playlists are available for download.”

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for (or at least those of us who own the sickest game out there). The Call of Duty 4 downloadable maps are now available and this weekend, to entice everybody to get going on them, all players will get double experience points.

The mappack for COD 4 (the one that 360 owners already have) is set to be released on 24th April (next week) in the US. Guess what? Us Europeans have been screwed over slightly again, because we’re only going to get it on May 4th, according to QJ.net.

Infinity Ward’s highly acclaimed (and thoroughly excellent) Call of Duty 4 has just passed the nine million mark in sales since launching in November. No really - nine million. If you take into account the length of time it has been on shelves that is a pretty serious return on investment.

Everyone current favourite shooter has been patched today, to version 1.2. It’ll automatically download and install when you start the game (provided your PS3 is connected to the internet), and it’s only 12mb, so it shouldn’t take long.
