Activision has announced an official release date for the latest chapter in the highly successful Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: World at War. The game will hit retail shelves on November 11, 2008 in North America. Published by Activision and developed by Treyarch, World at War takes the Call of Duty franchise back to World War II, predominantly in the Pacific theater and the Eastern Front of the war.

It remains to be seen if this game can top the highly acclaimed Call of Duty 4 which is still going strong. Stay tuned for a review and further details.
