Call of Duty 4: New Map Details!
Earlier this month, we brought you details that Infinity Ward was actively working on some new and pretty darn cool multiplayer maps for Call of Duty 4. There were few details at that time but we have more now.
We don't have real concrete specifics but do have some new details and hints about the new maps including the fact that they should be available this spring.
The first fact is that the new, multiplayer maps will be available in packs of three. They will also be available for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. We're also promised a good deal of variety which is part of what makes the existing maps enjoyable. Infinity Ward was quoted as saying "We're fortunate to have a very big community, so they're the ones who know what's getting old, or what they want to see."
There were three key ideas that the community wants to see: more buildings without closed doors, entirely new locales, and open, large scale maps. More from Inifinity Ward - "People who want open maps are going to be happy with this map pack. People who want more indoor locales are going to be happy with this map pack. People who want something completely different from what they're currently playing are going to be happy with this map pack." Suffice to say, I think they want us to think that we'll be happy with the new map pack.
On a final note, "We plan on supporting our game for a very long time. As I said, we have a large community. We're currently number one on Xbox LIVE (Editors note: At least those 360 doofuses can do one thing right), so we have a lot of people playing. We're going to continue to support the community that keeps supporting us. We have a lot of cool ideas that we're working on, and we're going to keep making maps until we're done."

xbox gets the maps on march 30th PS3 gets it on april 30th. there are five new maps overgrown, and crash from cod4 and salvage,storm, and i foregot the last one but they look cool i wish they came out for PS3 the same time it came out for xbox witch is bullcrap

My friend just DL'd the 4 GotYE maps for his PS3 and he said they only work online!
My other friend, who more wisely* owns the gamer's console, an Xbox 360, and has the extra maps too. I think I played against him (offline) on the 'Creek' new map.
*Although he got the 'red ring of death' yesterday, but he had a non-Falcon model, so I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did! (Don't know if he's still inside the 3yr warranty, or, more importantly, he can keep his hard drive if they swap his console for a reconditioned one)
I think they do work on split screen as well.

they are out today, but at the same time world wide so it could be in the middle of the night. I've downloaded an up date on the game today this must be to load the new maps. look forward to killing you all in the creek!!! darbythedog, look out for the name online.

I think there are 3 multiplayer maps and 1 single player map(broadcast)
You definately have to pay mattus. But Ps3 users can share them. Go on another Ps3 and sign in and you can download it up to 5 times all for one payment.
I thing they come out on the 24th-26th of April. And there is 4 maps. Not three.

sup gamers.... so about these weapon attachments and higher prestieges... did this happen on the xbox patch? i know theyve got the maps...but i didnt see anything else... again, any new word on the ps3 release dates?

bunch of noobs on here I swear. the 360 always gets their stuff first. Thats always how its been. PS3 owners get the new maps about a month after the 360. The maps will be DLC probably around 10 dollars through the playstation store, definitely worth it. still can't believe someone asked if they'll be available online..lol stupid nubs

There are 4 new maps..
Killhouse----->Training level
Chinatown-------> Carentan remake (old cod map)
Broadcast -------> tv station (single player)
Creek------------> just new sniper fest. lethalllll
they cost 800ms points to download and will be available..so i hear.. on april the third
new update to come out today though including...again so i hear.. 5 new prestiges.. 2 weapon attachments..new weapon for gold crosses rank 55 and soo on.
well i hope all this happens..
