After just a few hours online, Sony has pulled its latest firmware update from the PlayStation Network, in response to a number of of complaints and errors in its mechanics that apparently have effected a select number of users.

Several sources are reporting that, after numerous complaints on forums around the world Sony has now pulled the hotly-anticipated 2.4 firmware update from the PlayStation Network.

A select few users have had apparently suffered issues regarding the update, and Sony has responded to the issue pretty swifty.

“We’re aware that some PS3 users are reporting issues after downloading and installing the 2.40 firmware update onto their system.

“We are looking into the matter further and will work with our customers to address any related issues they may be experiencing with their PS3 systems.”

We’ll keep you posted when we find out more.

    I knew they were going to do this cos i had a few issues yesterday were it wouldnt let me access any trophy features or let me play stardust hd, Im guessing they will bring out an update 2.45 to patch people who already have 2.40, which means its likely to take more time to patch uncharted and mgs4 for trophies but nvm, id rather them take there time and fix it then leave people’s consoles to die like a certain other brand does.

    I downloaded 2.40 fine and it works fine too. I dunno if it affects certain models? Ive got the 60gb version. Has anyone had problems after a seemingly ‘fine’ install?
