A quick search Blu-Ray on Ebay yielded one page result of Blu-Ray merchandise. Someone is selling Sony Blu-Ray DVD recorder for $3,700 and blank recordable Blu-Ray disc for around $25 each. The recorder is Japanese version and the blank discs will only work on Japanese version of recorder. It should be noted that the price of a Blu-Ray recorder on Ebay does not reflect the current cost; it”s still remains unknown as we wait for more information from the Blu-Ray industry early next year.
If the recorder and player alike cost around $3,000 to consumers than Sony is basically giving away Blu-Ray player to PS3 owners when this highly anticipated console launches spring of next year. Rejoice PS3 fanatics!

Bestbuy.com has a Sony and Samsung BD player for pre-order at 999.99 each. A bit less than 3 grand, I’d say. They’re both looking at an August ‘06 release.
